Leaving footprints in the sky and letting go of fear!

Paragliding, Sarangkot, Pokhara, Nepal πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

As human beings, we all share a deep-seated desire, one that resides in the innocent recesses of our minds – the yearning to be a bird, to soar high above the earth and dance with the clouds. It’s a dream that whispers to us, beckoning us to leave the mundane behind and experience the world – somewhere in the sky, open your arms and float with the clouds. Such a relaxing!

Recently, I had the exemption of turning that desire into a real-life book – in the picturesque landscapes of Nepal. The adventure? Paragliding – an odyssey of gracefully leaving the ground and welcoming the open sky with nothing but a canopy of fabric and a heart full of glee.

“I’m learning to fly
Around the clouds
But what goes up (learning to fly)
Must come down”

Learning To Fly – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

The moment my feet left the hazy and clouded greensward, a rush of emotions veiled me. The wind, a faithful companion, lifted me gently, and suddenly, I found myself in a sphere where worries were left far below. The world unfolded beneath me like a magnificent tapestry, and I became a mere spectator in the grand theatre of nature. Floating in the heart of the clouds, I shared the zest with majestic eagles, feeling a kinship with these creatures of the sky. Their effortless flight is an attestation to the freedom that comes with warming the unknown. As I looked down, people akin to miniature figures, scurried about their daily lives. The contrast was deep, and a sense of detachment settled in, bringing with it a profound clarity about the fleeting nature of time.

Paragliding is not just about the adrenaline rush; it’s about winning fears that tether us to the ground. It’s about letting go of the weight we carry on our shoulders from midnight deadlines to go-to schedules, and both physically and metaphorically. With each gentle sway of the paraglider, I shed layers of apprehension, feeling lighter and more free with every passing moment.

Nepal, with its awe-inspiring landscapes, provided the perfect backdrop for this radical experience. The snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas stood as silent witnesses to my journey, and the pristine lakes below reflected the boundless blue sky above. It was a symphony of nature, and I was a fleeting note in its composition. As I dropped back to the ground and stood on my feet, I couldn’t help myself but feel a sense of feat. Leaving footprints in the sky was not just a metaphorical expression; it was a tangible reminder that dreams, no matter how lofty, are attainable. The fear that once held me bound was replaced by a stout-hearted spirit, eager to explore new horizons.

Paragliding in Nepal was more than an adventure; it was a dance with the elements, a communion with nature, and a celebration of the human spirit’s ability to soar beyond limitations. So, folks, let go of the fear that anchors you to the ground, spread your wings, and leave your own footprints in the boundless canvas of the sky. Happy gliding with love, till next time, to y’all!
